The IPD Network Design Engineering team has a wide range of responsibilities from OSS strategy, design and engineering, implementation and migration planning, service design and proof of concept, implementation, testing, optimization services, customer training and advice.

The team is seeking an OSS Network Architect to deliver services to the client's customer base. The candidate in this role will be required to work in a consultative manner with customers, product line managers (PLM), regional customer support teams (RSC), the R&D organization and systems engineering teams to scope and deliver projects which may include the following responsibilities:
-Produce OSS designs with the best architecture available to support our customer's requirements.
-Lead requirements gathering and scoping workshops.
-Produce and review technical statement of work documentation.
-Produce and review design documentation, training documentation, and various customer-facing documents.
-Work closely with customers to test, design, and plan for deployments of IPD OSS products and features.
-Provide advanced and customized technical training to customers.
-Provide remote developer support to customers integrating third party OSS systems with IPD’s OSS products
-Install/upgrade ALU’s network management products (e.g. 5620 SAM, 5750 SSC).
-Integrate ALU’s products with third party OSS products.
-Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer's technical management teams.
-Develop and maintain in-depth technical and marketing knowledge of key ALU IPD product lines.
-The work is frequently on-site with customers, with travel a requirement (approx 25-35% of the time)

The successful candidate will have strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills as well as being energetic, results oriented and a self starter.


EDUCATION:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.

IP training / certification is an asset.

EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate should have work experience with some or all of the following (minimum 5+ years relevant work experience):
-Experience delivering professional services including network strategy, design and engineering, proof of concept, implementation, testing, customer training and on-site support.
-OSS and/or Multi-vendor integration experience
-Network Management of IP and WAN networks (includes HP-OV, SNMP, and CLI knowledge).
-Intermediate to advanced knowledge of IP Networking. Routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP), signaling protocols (RSVP, LDP), QoS, IP VPN, VLAN, VLL/VPLS, BRAS, etc.
-Specific Alcatel knowledge of the following: 5620 SAM and SAM-O XML Interface, 5750 SSC, 5620 CMIP OSSI and TMN, 5620 CORBA OSSI, 5620 Statistics Collector interface, 7x50 routers
-Tier 1 network architecture background in the areas of Triple Play, IPTV, VoIP, IP and ATM.
-Knowledge of DHCP, RADIUS AAA. 802.1x.
-Experience with DSL and DSLAM technology.
-Minimum intermediate knowledge of UNIX
-Experience with scripting and scripting languages
-Software development experience is an asset: Object Oriented Design and Analysis, Java programming language, JMS, EJB over RMI. C++ Programming, Visual Works 3.x to 7.x, Internet based applications using XML, HTTP/s, SOAP knowledge.
-Oracle Database experience and Database access technologies
